Long had the Far Seas Trading Company provided Norrath's displaced citizens a place of refuge, an island where they found respite from the chaos of the Shattered Seas, before being transported to the last great cities of Freeport and Qeynos. But strange tidings came and without another word, the seafaring merchants stopped honoring the Pact of Tserrin. The refugees that should have been arriving at the cities' docks were replaced by rumors and speculation.

For years, the mystery remained.

Meanwhile, the future of Norrath hung in the balance of Age’s End, forcing tenuous alliances to be forged, and inevitably broken between the kingdoms. When all seemed lost, the great heroes of Norrath pushed the squabbling rulers aside, taking matters into their own hands. Kerafyrm the Awakened, the great Prismatic dragon, fell at last!

A cautious optimism replaced fear within the cities, as they were no longer besieged by the Awakened Legion. But even with the great prismatic wyrm trapped within the reformed grip of Luclin, and his army scattered to the winds, all was not well.

Tension between the great nations of Freeport and Qeynos was such that anything might spark the fires of another war. And yet, perhaps thankfully, the long struggle with the Awakened had depleted much of their ability to wage a successful battle.

This was unacceptable! The two states weighed their options knowing they must secure supplies as preparation for the inevitable. They looked to the Far Seas Traders' seemingly unlimited coffers and saw their answer. Unbeknownst to each other, Lucan D'Lere and Antonia Bayle each sent an emissary to seek an audience with their leader, Duke Jaesten Ferrin. Such a harmless thing, such a small thing, and yet will this order prove to be our undoing?

When no word from their representatives returned, the monarchs grew alarmed. They called upon heroes of past battles to venture within the Shattered Seas to find their emissary, and establish a new pact with the trading company before their adversary could do the same.

AoM image02.jpg

What awaited the heroes was no longer an isle of refuge within the Tranquil Sea. Something terrible and chaotic had befallen the island, changing its very nature! The few survivors had no words to explain the disaster. But the heroes were not deterred. They began to piece together the clues, and learned that the authority of the Far Seas on the Isle of Refuge, one Captain Greymast, had escaped the calamity and fled the island, leaving a trail of guilt behind him.

The heroes' search for Greymast took them on an odyssey further on the waters, to islands never before visited by those outside the Far Seas Trading Company!

AoM image03.jpg

Death Weave Isle - a lush island inhabited by feral beasts; part bear, part spider, the urzarach threaten every soul who dares come ashore, successfully keeping prying eyes from finding Brokenskull Bay - a secret pirate harbor boasting equal parts treasure and curses!

AoM image04.jpg

What was once a single volcanic island has since destroyed itself in a cataclysmic eruption leaving two distinct islands, the southern of which lies within Tranquil Sea - South Dshinn. Within the savage lands that remain is a fearsome tribe of pygmies who live in awe of the deinodons, large prehistoric creatures that share the land with them. Unfortunately, the Allu'thoa, a tribe of zealot lizard-men, do not hold any respect for the deinodons or pygmies. They have crawled out from their subterranean home of Zavith'loa, their fervor galvanized by religious prophecy, with the sole purpose of claiming the land as their own.

Knowing that they are hot on Captain Greymast's heels, the determined heroes set sail from South Dshinn and Tranquil Sea, and head for North Dshinn. What awaits them within Phantom Sea may carry great consequences for the great kingdoms of the Shattered Lands.

Unswayed in their quest to find Captain Greymast, the heroes sent by the Overlord of Freeport and by the benevolent Queen of Qeynos, arrive in the Phantom Sea, a body of water peppered with mysterious islands that have not been seen by eyes outside of the Far Seas Trading Company since the Age of Cataclysms.

AoM image11.jpg

The island of North Dshinn shares a great many commonalities with its southern sister in Tranquil Sea, but here the zealous Allu'thoa have succeeded in decimating the pygmy population. The last few survivors have been forced to flee their village, Gazanti, leaving the revered deinodons on the island to fend for themselves. This abandonment has gained the attention of the Far Seas Trading Company, who has sent a small band of members to investigate.

AoM image12.jpg

In the heart of the Phantom Sea rests an isle feared by those who are unfortunate enough to know of its existence - Kithicor Island. The dense woodland that swallows this forest isle shields what lies within from seafaring eyes. Those who dare step foot within the cursed thicket speak of a bloody battle so horrific, it cursed the land with Hate, leaving an army of undead wandering the shrouded land! A Teir'Dal fishing village on the edge of the forest harbors a secretive cult of evil summoners known as the Primordial Malice. Through dark magic and a mysterious altar in their breathtaking cathedral of hate, the Ossuary of Malevolence, grim designs of vengeance and sacrifice threaten to usher in a darker era where no one is safe!

AoM image13.jpg

Rising dramatically above the cursed wood on Kithicor Island is the highest peak within the Phantom Sea - Highpass. Once an ancient passage between Karana and the Commonlands, this mountain pass is now crowned by Castle Highhold - the Far Seas Trading Company's opulent headquarters. Below the castle, a distillery of grand proportions has been constructed to provide libations for the company to enjoy and trade, further deepening the company's pockets. While locked behind ornate doors within the castle, the increasingly paranoid Duke Jaesten Ferrin leads his company of seafaring merchants, relying heavily upon a few trusted councilors.

AoM image14.jpg

It was here where fate caught up with Captain Greymast during an apprehension that would bring the heroes face to face with Akheva, imposing four armed men, previously unheard of outside of Luclin! What were they doing on Norrath? Did Greymast make contact with them and bring devastation to the Isle of Refuge? The heroes' odyssey continued as they searched for answers on Grim Shales - a dangerous, craggy island, replete with archaic ruins and undead iksar. Here they uncovered an untouched Shissar temple, which had lain dormant under the waves since the Rending. It was here they were met with overwhelming odds and the awoken magics of an entire vanished civilization!

Will the heroes bring justice to Greymast? Are either Lucan's or Antonia's emissaries ever found? Is a new pact to be struck between one of the cities and the Far Seas Trading Company? Enter the Altar of Malice and be part of history!

The Pygmies of the Tranquil Sea lived their lives not knowing that they shared their island with a subterranean threat. Deep underneath Dshinn live the lizardkin tribe, Allu’thoa. Worshipping their enigmatic god of lava and prophecy, the Allu'thoa lived for millennia sequestered from the world above.

Now, driven by the ravings of their high priest, the Allu’thoa have broken to the surface to terrorize the Pygmies above and annex Dshinn as part of their domain. Many years ago, while lost in a storm on the Tranquil Seas, the Brokenskull Pirates came upon an uncharted island. The pirates found a secluded cavern to the leeward side of the island to weather the storm. When the seas calmed, they set out to explore the new land, hoping to make a permanent port in the bay that protected them from the storm. Instead they found the urzarach, a sentient race of creatures that are part bear and part spider, who claimed the land as their own.

AoM image31.jpg

The leader of the Brokenskull Pirates, the cursed Captain Krasnok, saw the existence of the urzarach as a boon, since few would find the pirates hidden near such terrifying creatures. Through manipulation and lies, the pirates convinced the urzarach to allow them to build a home in the cavern that protected them from the storm. Brokenskull Bay, as it became known, grew to a vast subterranean city, where the pirates stored their plunder and launched forays into the seas.

AoM image32.jpg

Sensing treachery from the pirates, the elders of the urzarach began to discuss ways to drive the pirates from underneath their home. Before they could act, however, a sickness struck that poisoned the minds of many of the uzarach, turning them feral and causing them to attack their kin. The malaise spread quickly through the urzarach of Death Weave isle, but before it could infect the population, the elders received a message from Krasnok that threatened to spread the sickness to the entire colony if the elders ceased their cooperation.

AoM image33.jpg

Now, the Brokenskull Pirates lay protected underneath the island, using the urzarach as a bulwark to guard their shores from intruders. Brave the shores of Death Weave and discover what secrets and treasures the Pirates have hidden among their plunder.
